The Anthenos agent

Last updated October 15, 2026

If requests to your site say they come from Anthenos, a customer of Anthenos asked for them. Anthenos is not a search crawler: it visits an address because a customer’s task names it, and it builds no index of the web.

To report a problem, write to hello@aethric.llc.

What Anthenos is

Anthenos, a product of Aethric LLC, is an AI operator for the customer and procurement portals suppliers work in. With a business’s authority, it opens the portals and web applications that business uses and does routine work in them — reading purchase orders and invoices, checking statuses, and completing actions, with sensitive ones waiting for a person’s approval.

When it visits a site

  • A task names an address. Anthenos requests it to find where the application answers, following a redirect only when it stays on the same site.
  • Learning or using an application. Anthenos opens the application in a browser, on behalf of the customer, who signs in with their own account if the application asks for one. It reads the pages of that one application, one at a time, a limited number of them.
  • Adding a tool. When a customer gives Anthenos the address of a tool server, Anthenos reads how to connect to it.
  • Reading a page. When a customer asks Anthenos to read or summarise a page by its address, Anthenos requests that one page and reads its text. A page that builds itself with JavaScript is opened once in a browser that still carries Anthenos’s own user agent, without images, video or fonts.

How it behaves

  • It visits only addresses a customer gave it.
  • While it reads an application, its browser blocks every request to any other site, and does not download images, video or fonts.
  • When a customer signs in, the customer controls that browser, and it can pass through the site the application uses for sign-in.
  • It does not crawl the web, build a search index, or collect pages for AI training.

How to recognise it

Requests Anthenos makes itself carry a user agent that begins Anthenos/1.0 and links to this page, including a page a customer asked it to read. When Anthenos opens an application in its browser, the visit comes from a Chromium browser and carries that browser’s own user agent.

Reporting a problem

If Anthenos is causing a problem for a site you run, write to hello@aethric.llc with your site’s address, the times of the requests and what went wrong. To report a security problem in Anthenos itself, see Security.
